Vancouver and Beyond!

After some fun visiting with our new West Coast friends we headed for the border. And by the border I don't mean Taco Bell. Oh no, J and I went international on this honeymoon. We went to Canada!

Our hotel room!

Ferry ride to Port Angeles
Vancouver was fun (note to self: check parade schedules when visiting large cities). We had a very brief amount of time to hang out in Victoria. Apparantly we needed to be in line and ready to go through customs 90 minutes prior to departure. We had enough time to see the Capitol building and eat a quick bite. Ah well.

Then we took ANOTHER ferry to Port Angeles, WA. Port Angeles is a relatively small city and was really just a place for us to sleep before we hit our first National Park. Olympic National Park woo hoo!

The sign welcoming us

That is one big tree!

Big leaves! (Notice I used my left hand...gotta show off the ring)

Olympic National Park covers a good chunk of the Western corner of Washington State. We left the park and drove through other areas in order to get to the rain forest. One of those areas was Forks. Now I'm not a Twihard, I'm sure I've mentioned that once or twice. But, I have friends who LOVE the books and movies so we stopped for them. We had lunch in Forks and really, it's just a normal small town. No vampires in sight.

That's my vampire impression.
After Forks we hit one more part of Olympic National Park. We stopped at the Hoh Rain Forest. It's incredible!
In front of a sitka pine. Pretty big tree, right?

In the rain forest. Moss covers everything!

Hoh Rain Forest

Lots and lots of moss. It was incredibly cool and kinda creepy

If you look in the lower right corner that's me in front of the cedar tree

From Olympic we headed down the coast to spend one last night in Washington before we headed even further south. Oregon here we come!

Love the photos!! Of course it rained while you were in WA, haha. It looks like you had a great time even with all the rain.
